The threads from a strand of twine so often fail to take the time to
untwirl in such a way that they might separate and be able to be
put back together.

You may try, of course, to twist the threads together;
pull them taut, tug and tuck each one under the other.

But all you do is failure.

Especially when you lack, by loss or some amnesia, the bonding
agent you’ve entrusted in the past to help prevent the original
fissure from rustling the fibers past the point of no return
